【明報專訊】LAST FRIDAY (December 9) saw in Beijing a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at which 2017 economic work was analysed. That means the last important 2016 meeting to be held on the mainland (a Central Economic Work Conference (CEWC) at which what has been done this year will be summarised and what should be done next year will be planned) is to take place this week. The first inkling of a major special feature of the CEWC (that Xi Jinping is to go all out to pursue reform and it will rest mainly with Li Keqiang to avert risks) has appeared.
