Editorial : Promoting An Age-Friendly Consumption Environment

【明報專訊】IN A SURVEY on the use of banking services by the elderly, the Consumer Council has found that although banks have adopted some "age-friendly" measures, there are some obvious shortcomings, and improvements should be made. There is huge developmental potential in Hong Kong's silver economy, since elderly people also have consumption and financial management needs. Banking services need to keep pace with the times. Not only should digitalisation and technologicalisation be promoted, but the trends of changes in the demographic structure should also be considered.
