【明報專訊】TO REINVIGORATE the night economy, the government launched a series of activities as part of the "Night Vibes Hong Kong" initiative in the middle of this month. Some people have questioned whether these activities are just a "mishmash" of uncreative ideas that will do little to reverse the tide of consumers heading north to spend money on the mainland, while some people in the catering industry are worried that the initiative will divert business away from them. Yet, the authorities have emphasised that "Night Vibes" activities are varied and diverse, saying that they can cater to different customers and are not intended to compete with restaurants for business.
