Editorial : Legal Protection for Those Working in Unbearable Heat

【明報專訊】The extreme summer heat of Hong Kong is getting worse year by year. People who suffer the most are those grassroots workers who engage in manual labour outdoors and those who live in subdivided flats, a living environment as hot as a steamer. Apart from committing itself to reducing pollutions and easing the urban heat island effect, the government also has a responsibility to take care of the disadvantaged. It particularly needs to protect the health of workers who labour outdoors.
