【明報專訊】When movie-watching moved from the big screen to the palm-size-monitor, it conceded part of its original adhesive magic. Even though cinemas are pitched-black, the audience enjoys a known togetherness, safely masked in the silence everyone is told to keep. Nowadays, moving images are everywhere. Consumed in their parallel universes through individual screens, the audience share neither the watching experience, nor a sense of comfort in their physical surroundings. The phenomenon not only celebrates the explosion of entertainment choices, but also speaks about an age of fragmented experience. Sometimes, I miss watching a good old film with people.
