【明報專訊】什麼是名詞，什麼是形容詞，相信讀者不會陌生。名詞一般指人物、物件、建築物等；形容詞則用於修飾名詞，比如描述其外貌、顏色、形狀、功能等。在英文中，名詞一般出現於冠詞（articles: a, an, the）或量詞（quantifiers: some, many, most, little, etc.）等限定詞（determiner）後面，如：a teacher、an apple、the piano、many cars、some fruits。若想進一步修飾這些名詞，可於前面加上形容詞。如：a kind teacher、a red apple、the new piano、many used cars、some delicious fruits。
