【明報專訊】Gloria D' Almada Barretto (1916—2007) was an adventurous（有冒險精神）child. Brought up in Fanling surrounded by farmers, fields and buffaloes, she would gallop her horse along the little-used Kowloon-Canton Railway, or stay up late to watch fireflies dancing in the bushes. Gloria loved the countryside so much she taught herself the names of all Hong Kong's flowers and trees.
