【明報專訊】It was late in the season when the big typhoon blew. It was one of the strongest hurricanes in twenty years and wreaked havoc（嚴重破壞）over the land. In the town, everyone stayed home and no one dared venture out （冒險出門）. In the countryside, many trees were blown down or uprooted in dangerous mudslides（塌方）. After the wind and rain died down, the birds were busy finding shelter for many of their nests were gone.
