【明報專訊】Making cities 'smart' is a current trend within the development sector. Oslo, Barcelona, San Francisco, London and Singapore are all cities that have been strategically integrating innovation and technology into building or managing their assets for many years. Using sensors to monitor air quality, track traffic, ensure cleanliness and help the elderly stay in their own homes are just some of the examples of systems already implemented. A little late to the party but nonetheless committed, Hong Kong recently published its 'Smart Hong Kong' consultancy study report that provides recommendations for actions to be taken so that Hong Kong can also join the ranks.
