【明報專訊】CHINA'S elite Olympians have set foot in Macao after their Hong Kong visit came to an end. During their 3-day stay in our city, the athletes, by showcasing their skills in front of Hong Kongers and interacting with them, displayed a kind of confidence and a spirit of dogged pursuit of achievements that are characteristic of today's Chinese athletes. Hong Kong people, on the other hand, showed that they took pride in what the Chinese athletes had achieved at the Rio Olympics by giving them a passionate and high-spirited welcome. All this has strengthened the bonding between mainland China and Hong Kong and will go some way towards addressing the disagreements between certain groups of people in the two places in recent years.
