【明報專訊】AT the Rio Olympics, Chinese athletes have unexpectedly lost many "first golds", but Chinese scientists have seized a "first gold" in quantum science research, a field still strange to man. Last week China succeeded in launching Micius, the world's first-ever quantum satellite, by means of which it will experiment quantum telecommunications. That not only will make it easier for China to build a space-earth integrated hack-proof telecommunication system but also may lead to a series of breakthroughs that would turn things upside down and benefit mankind.
