Some may say they would consider emigration because they want to get away from wrangling or to do their children good. It is not clear from statistics the government has released that the number of emigrations has considerably increased. It has actually come down from the peak it reached in the wake of the territory's reversion to Chinese sovereignty. However, in the first quarter of this year, 85% more Hongkongers emigrated to Canada. It is worth attention whether a new emigration situation has arisen.
