【明報專訊】RESPONDING to the report submitted by the Commission of Inquiry into Excess Lead Found in Drinking Water, the government called an inter-departmental press conference, which was led by Chief Secretary for Administration Carrie Lam. During the conference, two Directors of Bureaux and Departmental Directors promised to conduct a self-evaluation and repeatedly apologised. Though the government has offered an explanation to the public, the question about tap water safety, which is Hong Kong people's chief concern, remains unanswered, and the officials responsible for Hong Kong's water supply are still at the helm despite being severely criticised by the report.
