【明報專訊】2016 is bound to be characterised by complexity and changeability. The Kuomintang (KMT), which was defeated in the presidential election, has had a change of leadership. The Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP's) victory means Taiwan is to see its third political-party replacement. That has brought about not only variables in the island's politico-economic development but also what may heavily cloud cross-strait relations as well as those between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and the two special administrative regions (including Hong Kong). It is hard to tell whether the very changeable situation will bode weal or woe.
