【明報專訊】TWENTY-THREE mainland departments and agencies have joined forces to smash a multinational and inter-territorial phone-scam syndicate. Over 400 suspects have been arrested. The syndicate was involved in many phone scams including over 400 cases at the mention of which Hong Kong people would turn pale and in which many have been duped out of much money. Cooperation between law-enforcement agencies of the mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao and those of other places has proved successful. They should continue to step up their cooperation and improve their capability of cracking down on multinational and inter-territorial crime so that criminals will have no shelter.
