【明報專訊】FROM the next academic year onward, the government will subsidise thirteen degree programmes offered by five tertiary institutions with a view to nurturing talent in support of specific industries with urgent or keen demand for human resources. It remains to be seen whether the subsidisation scheme will benefit students and those industries, but some of the tertiary institutions that offer subsidised programmes have already raised the fees for them. The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) has raised the fees for its subsidised programmes by as much as 46% to 86%.
