【明報專訊】THE SAR GOVERNMENT released some economic figures last Friday. In the second quarter of this year, real economic growth was up 1.8% on the same period of last year. The increase is smaller than that in the first quarter of this year (2.6%) and the smallest since the third quarter of 2012. It has said the poor showing of the economy was due to the sharp plunge in tourist consumption and the shrinking of domestic demand, and it has lowered its economic growth forecast for this year to between 2% and 3%.
