【明報專訊】The electoral reform controversy has come to a point where, according to the parties concerned, there seems to be little hope for the implementation of universal suffrage in the 2017 chief executive election. The public is generally pessimistic, expecting the reform proposal to fall through and the electoral system to remain unchanged. Starting from tomorrow, central government liaison office director Zhang Xiaoming will meet with pan-democratic lawmakers group by group. We hope this will result in a change whereby the negotiating parties will not try to find fault with each other, but will consider the other side's concerns.
